Privacy Policy

SideQuest ("SideQuest," "we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile application and companion waitlist website (together, the "Service") that lets friends assign each other real-world dares, submit proof, and receive a group verdict. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you interact with the Service, how we use it, and the rights available to you. SideQuest is based in Poland and offers the Service to users worldwide; where applicable, we process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

1. Information We Collect

  • Waitlist information. If you join the early-access waitlist, we collect the email address you provide.
  • Technical and log data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server log data (e.g., IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security and operational purposes.
  • Content you submit. Once the Service launches beyond the waitlist stage, using it will involve submitting content such as dares, proof of completion (photos, videos, screenshots), and verdicts to the friends in your circle. This policy will be updated with launch-specific detail before that functionality goes live.

We do not currently use cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising trackers on this website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Notify you when early access becomes available and manage the waitlist queue;
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • Respond to inquiries sent to hello@sidequestmate.online;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. How We Share Information

We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our content-delivery and hosting providers (e.g., DigitalOcean), strictly to operate the Service;
  • Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SideQuest or others;
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a materially equivalent one.

4. International Data Transfers

SideQuest is based in Poland (European Union), and the Service is offered to users worldwide. If you access the Service from outside the European Economic Area, your information may be transferred to and processed in the EEA. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Data Retention

We retain waitlist email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until the waitlist is closed, whichever comes first. We retain server logs only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes.

6. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with equivalent data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request erasure of your data;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Poland, the Personal Data Protection Office — UODO).

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist subscribers by email.
